RE: Carbon Monoxide

I had issues with our Raptor, dealer adjusted the tail pipe and it helped but I never trusted it unless the wind was moving along pretty good. I just made my own Gen-turi and used it every time. I'm a bit surprised that Jayco took so long to do nothing.

RE: how to use the water system in freezing temps

stealman, I camped a couple years ago with our Raptor in below 32 degree temps. Don't try to use your hose as it will freeze up on you. I found if I kept my water tank full it didn't freeze, I also ran the LP furnace which helped keep the lines from freezing. I supplemented our heating with 3 ceramic space heaters, one of of which was pointed in the cabinets to keep the air around the sink lines from freezing. I never froze my water lines, but I did learn not to leave my black water line out, empty or not. I drove with full tanks to/from our destination for better traction on the snow.

RE: newbie...need help

If it has 110v power then it does have a circuit breaker. Generally located near the floor and closer to the outside power plug. Most often they seem to be located near the door or under the fridge I've found.

RE: Which Toyhauler makers out of business?

On the first page of the Toy Hauler forum, check "The Complete List of Toy Haulers" you'll see which ones are still open (for the moment at least) and which are going under and at the bottom a list of Orphaned ones too.

RE: Alfa Gold Toyhouse 2006....HELP!

Have you spoken with any former Alfa dealers, they might have some ideas where to get them from other suppliers. I did a quick search for an Alfa owners group but didn't find anything, that's another avenue to see about where folks are getting parts too. If you don't know a dealer drop me a PM and I can put you in touch with a guy I know at Russ Dean RV in Pasco, Wa - they were Alfa dealers at one time and he might be able to help you.

RE: Toyhauler Magazine...

I still get mine and enjoy reading it even though I don't own a Toy Hauler anymore, much of it still applies to me as a rider.

RE: thinking of quads

DJ, we ride mostly trails around here. A couple times a year we take our quads down to the beach and have a blast. I'm not jumping like the Sport guys, but then again when the mud is on the trails I don't get covered either. I've been happy with our Sportsman 500 ATVs. For long trail rides its hard to beat the comfort that Polaris offers. I personally wouldn't want anything smaller then a 500 for myself, I wouldn't mind a larger one but when it comes down to money the 500 has been right by me. You can get an EFI Sportsman 500 now, the new ones will look different and of course cost more. My two boys 10 & 13 both ride Honda Recon's, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another. For my wife though, she rides a 500 as I do. Laws vary by State so you need to do your homework and understand the dealers hands maybe tied. We do 99% of our riding in Oregon which is becoming a Fit Rider State. Shop around and check out all the various brands, compare features and cost and if you can take them on a test spin.

RE: WD and sway hitches

Equalizer Hitch $449 from RV Wholesalers I had an Equalizer hitch with my previous trailer, worked great and never had a problem. Dealer tried to get me to buy some pile that they sold, but in the end I got the Equalizer hitch that was in our agreement.

RE: Post photos of your toyhauler

HOTSKI2 - I fixed your photo links. When you setup a folder for your pictures its best to not use any spaces in the name. The spaces often get filled in with "%20" instead and they get messed up later on. I also fixed the width of the bottom photos to the max width of 640 pixels.

RE: Any problems with Firefox 3.0?

No problems for me. I use it on my XP machine at work and my Mac at home. They are up to v3.01 now, squashed a couple bugs after the initial release.

RE: Mac Wireless Question

Did you recently update the AirPort? I can't help since mine just worked once I plugged it in. One option would be to write down all your settings and do a hard reset and reinstall. You might also post your question on the Apple Discussion forums, when I've had questions I've gotten some quick advice there. Firewall: System Preferences, Security, click the Firewall tab. Usually this is set to Allow all incoming connections. There are some good white papers on setting up your Mac Firewall if you want more control. I use Little Snitch to lock down my outgoing connections.

I don't know what happened to the Chrome thread from yesterday... I can only imagine :R. Nothing happened to it. It's still here, just may have moved to your second page. You can find it here.

RE: Tow behind in Snow

snowman, sounds like you have either an Equalizer or Dual Cam/Sway Control setup, so you are off to a good start. You'll want to load as per your specs, but keep in mind you don't want to take off to much weight off the rear tires either. I would try loading your toys up and hit some scales, here in the NW we have scales all over that are usually closed on the weekends and allow you to still see the weights. Finding the optimal balance is going to be important to make sure you don't encourage sway or allow it to get out of control on the snow. Don't forget you'll probably need to carry chains for the truck as well as for the trailer. Avoid having water tanks half full as the sloshing around can set you off balance too. The other item that gets talked about on here is the melted snow in the haulers, large amounts of water isn't a good thing in the toy haulers. Since I don't haul snowmobiles I can't help, but you may want to search on that here. The closer we get to winter the more the snow topics come up. Good luck!

RE: Moving info from PC to iMac

Congrats! I switched over in February and haven't looked back. The 24" iMac is sweeeeet. As for keyboard, I picked up a wireless Logitech S530 Keyboard/Mouse combo and love it. The Mighty Mouse and I didn't seem to get along. I like the feel of this new keyboard though. http://www.logitech.com/lang/images/0/10103.jpg width=640

RE: Tow behind with lifted trucks, let's see

http://gigcat.midhudson.org:2090/screens/images/help.jpg width=100 Hey folks if you can help out your fellow users by remember to set the width to all photos to a maximum of 640 pixels, smaller is fine. I know for many it doesn't effect you, but for some the larger photos really skew the forum off their browser. If the image is larger then 640 pixels just type in 640 in the Width box and the software here will adjust it for you. If the image is smaller then 640 leave it blank, or it will try and stretch the photo. Thanks! http://img.skitch.com/20080827-tsksm6pnh9twiigd9g5ghpm72.jpg
